It has been exactly a month since I arrived in Sanda (三田). Sanda is a suburban town, a 45-minute Shinki bus ride to Kobe city, the capital of Hyogo Prefecture. I stay right beside Yokoyama station. I love it when the train comes rattling on its tracks. The arrival of the trains at regular intervals came like a newfound companion when it broke the deathly silence during the first few nights in Sanda. It has become a comfortable white noise that I have grown used to.
